Boat-shaped and substantial, this Ayurvedic kharal from rural Northern India carries the quiet authority of something that spent decades doing real work. It's carved from a single piece of soapstone — the interior worn glassy-smooth from use, the exterior holding a deep, uneven patina where organic matter has worked into the porous stone over years, while the geometric border around the rim stays crisp where hands rarely reached and softened where they always did. It sits well on a console or shelf, or use it to hold collected pieces. Each kharal is sourced individually and will arrive with its own particular wear and character.

Antique reclaimed marble mortar (kharal). Salvaged from rural Indian households. Deep patina from decades of use with medicinal herbs and spices. Cracks, repairs, staining and surface wear are inherent to the piece's history. Each piece is individually handcrafted, so the one you receive will have its own slight variations — this is part of what makes it unique.

Cleaning: Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid acidic cleaners, citrus and prolonged contact with liquids.
