Barrel-shaped and upright, the Tutsi milk jug has the quiet authority of something made entirely by hand — a single vertical strip of silver metal inlay running neck to base creates a graphic line against the irregular grain of the carved timber. The wood shows the uneven tones of age, its surface shaped rather than refined, with the inlay sitting flush and deliberate against it. Sits well on an entry console or sideboard, particularly alongside other vessels of varying height.
