Graphic without being decorative, the BaTonga pendant reads as a rhythm of alternating natural and deep black bands — structured enough to anchor a space, loose enough to feel handmade. Each shade is woven by BaTonga artisans in Zimbabwe from natural grasses with vegetable dyes, so the tones shift subtly across the surface in ways that are part of the tradition, not inconsistencies. Sold as a shade only, it suits a simple cord fitting above a dining table or beside a bed.

Why We Love It

The alternating natural and black bands give it a graphic rhythm you don't get from single-tone pendants. Vegetable-dyed grass means the black reads as deep brown-black, not flat — closer to charcoal than ink.
